VALICALC · TECHNICAL REFERENCE
Look up scoped fitting K examples, compare quantity-adjusted head loss and equivalent length, then transfer the selected K subtotal to Pump TDH.
Search within the verified subset. Numeric sizes match complete designations; a nearby size is a candidate, not an exact match.

Ksubtotal=nK; h=nKv²/(2g); equivalent straight length Le=nKD/f using Darcy f and D in metres. Different fitting types must be totalled separately.
CHECK THE METHOD
Two long-radius elbows with K0.6 each give subtotal 1.2. At 1.5 m/s, loss is about 0.138 m; D50 mm and f0.02 give 3 m equivalent length.
Actual fitting geometry, opening and Reynolds number affect K. Applying a subtotal replaces the calculator total K; it does not add automatically. Do not count both K and equivalent length for the same fitting.

Last verified:
Nine selected EPA EPANET fitting examples. K values are generic examples, not certified product data. Equivalent length is conditional on the entered Darcy f.
Values are curated product facts or generated scenarios. Paid standards, complete catalogs and source diagrams are not reproduced. A verification date applies to this documented subset.
