Assumptions & checks

An operating scenario, not a meter reading or tariff forecast. Connected power is not simultaneous demand; annual results repeat the daily scenario for 365 days.

Formula

Build a multi-load energy and cost estimate with quantity, hours and duty cycle

Daily kWh=Σ(power W × quantity × hours/day × duty/100)/1000. Period energy=daily×days; cost=kWh×entered tariff. Worked example: One 1 kW load at 4 h/day and 100% duty uses 4 kWh/day, 120 kWh in 30 days; tariff 0.20 gives 24.00.

Worked example

Using the default values shown in the calculator, the same formula gives the following result. This is a quick sanity check for the calculation, not a design recommendation.

Frequently asked questions

What does this result tell me?

An operating scenario, not a meter reading or tariff forecast. Connected power is not simultaneous demand; annual results repeat the daily scenario for 365 days.

How can I check the calculation?

Worked example: One 1 kW load at 4 h/day and 100% duty uses 4 kWh/day, 120 kWh in 30 days; tariff 0.20 gives 24.00. Review each stated input and unit; use project-specific values rather than treating the editable example as a requirement.
